Staff Selection Commission is about to commence CGL 2017 Examination on mentioned dates as given in official SSC Calendar. Aspirants who were waiting for notification, they need to check official advertisement that is available on official website

In addition, the Commission has made changes in the structure of the examination of SSC CGL 2017. SSC has shifted the mode of examination from OMR based to Computer Based Test. The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be made for both levels I and II exam.


In addition, the Commission decided to adopt a descriptive document of English / Hindi as Tier III. The final merit, Tier II and Tier III are prepared on the overall performance level I. However, candidates must Level I Level IILevel III to describe all levels and separately. There will be no sectional cut-off. Read below for the Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Result and Cutoff.

·         Number of Question:- 100.

·         Time Duration:- 75 Minutes

·         Maximum Marks:- 200 Marks

·         There is negative marking with a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

·         Paper 1 & 2: Compulsory for all candidates

·         Paper IV is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer

·         0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking in Paper-II and

·         0.50 marks in Paper-I and Paper-III respectively.

·         Paper- III can be attempted only by the candidates who apply for the post of Statistical Investigator Gr. II & Compiler.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2017

·         Bachelor’s / Graduation degree from a recognized University/ College/Institute

·       Applicant must be citizen of India and fall in the specified age limit. The Date of Birth recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate will be considered valid only. Moreover, the maximum age limit is relaxed for the candidates from the reserved category. Aspirants can find out SSC Coaching Centers for Better Preparation.

Section Procedure:

·         Tier -I — Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

·         Tier -II — Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

·         Tier -III — Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification


Application Fee:

·         An amount of Rs. 100/- (One Hundred) for General Category

·    However, the fee payment is exempted for the Women applicants and candidates belonging to ST, SC Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen

·     Application fee  pay through the Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) / SBI Challan or through Debit card/Credit Card/Net banking.

·         Upload passport size photograph and signature and
